Non-Profit Brand Identity
We were asked to create a visual identity for a Dutch theatre foundation. They wished to appear modern and fun, but with established roots in the theatre.

We used a square to denote the stage, turned it off-center to convey a sense of fun, and placed a block asterisk upstage right to combine stage markings and a hint of stardom. We used strong colors to connote solidity, combined with a buff, modern Franklin Gothic typeface.

In addition to the logo, we created a style guide, stationery and business cards.
Publishing Services
Karl Moore is well-known self-help guru, blogger and author. He recently finished writing two books, and asked Captus to take the raw manuscripts and prepare them for publishing.

We designed wraparound covers and page layouts appropriate to the subject of each book, carefully proofed the manuscripts, and prepared the cover and pagination files to printer specs. We also generated ISBN barcodes and added them to the covers.

We then carefully monitored print output and made appropriate adjustments to ensure total perfection.
Corporate Identity
Royal Domestic Placement Services finds qualified staff for exclusive estates worldwide. They chose Captus to develop an identity which reflected the quality of their candidates, and the upscale nature of their clients.

To convey a regal, established, yet modern company, we used a modernized fleur de lys (symbol of French kings) combined with an update to a classic serif typeface in royal blue.

We created a visual guide for the brand, and applied these guidelines across a range of applications, including business cards, stationery, web site and banner ads.
E-book Design
WCCL Network is a large publisher of e-books, under many different subject categories. They use our unique e-book design and publishing services for most of their publications.

For all of these e-books, we designed the covers and page layouts, formatted all text and diagrams to conform to the design layout, then compiled the book and transformed it into a portable electronic format suitable for sale and delivery.

These are just a few samples of the many, many designs we have created for WCCL.
Book Cover Design
This is a fascinating new book about the bottom-feeding hucksters who populate the underbelly of the internet and prey on innocent people. We were asked to design the book cover.

The author wanted something that gave the impression of a respectable book, yet conveyed the creepy nature of his subject.

We used pixelated duotone images to convey the shadiness aspect, and offset it with respectable Futura typography and a solid quadrant design.
Logo Design
We were asked to create a logo for a planned luxury resort in Morocco, in a large conservation area. The resort would embody community and environmental resposibility as well as luxury.

The developers desired a logo that would convey elegance, yet also convey a sense of purpose and nature.

We used a classic Trajan typeface for the name, and an elegant script typeface for the sub. Stylized grass conveys the nature aspect; the star conveys hope for the environment. The muted colors convey the serious nature of conservation, and a sense of purpose.

The Five Rituals is an interesting book about a British army colonel in the Indies who discovers ancient secrets about the fountain of youth.

We were asked to design the book cover and page layout. We chose rich colors evocative of the Orient past and used a cover visual from 16th century Tibet.

Because the book is also distributed electronically, we created watermarks on the inside pages which make it impossible to pirate.
